Milestone #2


Welcome folks!

For this second major update we've been progressing a lot since the last devlog. Here we will discuss the changes in detail:

1. Enemies: Armored and health-equipped enemies are implemented, which can be attacked using card abilities and can randomly attack the characters back. Additionally, the enemy sprites are changed.

2. Cards: The warrior's card set is completed, and the healer, archer, and mage card sets are also fully added. The added cards have the ability to select a single target or multiple targets depending on their ability. Furthermore, the cards have an associated type, which can be single-target, multi-target, or AoE.





3. States: Now enemies and characters can change their state depending on the attack they receive. The states include:

  • Burning: the target burns over rounds.
  • Weakness: the target is weakened and will receive more damage.
  • Stun: the target is incapacitated on its next turn.
  • K.O.: the unit receiving this state is permanently disabled.

4. Win condition: It is displayed when you win or lose, depending on which side's units are left standing at the end of the match.

5. UI: It is easier to identify whose turn it is and who is next, as a highlighted frame and text are now shown for each situation, respectively. Additionally, when selecting a card, you can change the target it will affect (the unit is shown in black) and then select it to apply the card's effect.



For the future updates we want to keep improving the enemies, adding more types and bosses. Also, improve the effects and visuals of the cards.
